The trend zone at the interiors and design fair Formland Spring 2018 will this time house a social living room, where the present and mindfulness are paramount. Far removed from today's technologies and devices, which otherwise sweeten our lives by making everything so much easier, the purpose of 'Life on Sundays' is to pay tribute to spending time together and the social, authentic values, which our digital lives and busy working days often curtail.

The experienced and strong team at STUDIO FLYHELSTED, which comprises the interior designer Mille Fly and the photographer Sofie Helsted, are the driving forces behind Formland's trend zone 'Life on Sundays'. The trend zone will consist of a café, a book and a paint shop as well as an inspiration universe in the form of a garden room, bedroom and kitchen. There will also be a living room with an all-day embroidery workshop. Here, you can drop in when you need to take time out, be off-line and be inspired by what gives life meaning - right now, in the present.

"The idea behind the 'Life on Sundays' trend zone is to create a natural oasis where it is possible to wind down, become completely absorbed and recharge your batteries without coming to a complete standstill. Using raw natural materials, a self-developed colour palette in bright pastel tones and contrasting touches with edge and humour, we aim to create a social living room. In five 'experience escapes', the trend zone will be steeped in inspiration for how we can incorporate a little more of that special Sunday feeling in our excessively busy lives," says Mille Fly.

Sustainability, experiences and authenticity

By combining natural materials, unprocessed products and recycling, STUDIE FLYHELSTED is creating a meeting place where visitors can be inspired by the short breaks which the five spaces encourage you to take. The area will be dotted with analogue-related products and sustainable materials.

"The trend we're seeing is for consumers to demand more and more sustainability, more natural and unprocessed products and greater authenticity. There is increased focus on how we use materials, and how materials can be recycled and reused. Visitors to Formland 2018 will find inspiration on how they can combine products, and how to consider and make demands on dealers so that jointly you can create a stronger DNA. We're immensely excited, and very proud to be deciding the framework for Formland's trend zone," say Mille Fly and Sofie Helsted.

At the trend zone, STUDIE FLYHELSTED will among others be working with 'Mosaikhjørnet' and 'New Mags'. Together, they will create an artistic universe that inspires visitors and exhibitors to take a break by providing a feeling of 'a little more Sunday, every day'.

Life on Sundays is at Formland Spring on 1-4 February 2018 at MCH Messecenter Herning.
